There are some preloaded options such as dairy factory – cheese whey.
If you are entering a custom product such as compost/mulches, the nutrient composition of these products is required to be entered. It is recommended products are tested to ensure the correct nutrients are entered.
A product should be entered as compost/mulch if there is no inorganic N (nitrate, ammonium).
If inorganic N is present enter as other organic material. The product is split between slow and fast release based on the percentage of N in the inorganic form. Slow release is based on the N content of the organic fraction, soil moisture and temperature.
Dairy factory effluent should be added here under the organic fertiliser input tab, NOT as an irrigation input.
The N in irrigation is treated as inorganic N whereas dairy factory effluent contains inorganic and organic N.
