The Dairy grazing(milking cows) stock class is part of the Beef/dairy grazing enterprise. It is used to identify mature mixed aged dairy cows that are not lactating (not currently being milked) but are pregnant. Being part of the Beef/dairy grazing enterprise, cows do not lose and gain weight as lactating animals do. No age-related weight gain is assumed as the cows are mature but they are assumed to be gestating. This stock class is often use to identify dairy mobs on a runoff block during their dried off period.
Dairy grazing (replacements) are younger cows (dry yearlings or autumn born heifers) and are not gestating.
