How farm dairy effluent is captured in the Nutrient Budget

The nutrient budget is a record of the nutrient added and removed from the farm (or block). 

Farm dairy effluent produced within the farm and applied to blocks is not included in the farm nutrient budget because there is no transfer of nutrients across the farm boundary when effluent is generated within the farm and applied to a block.

Effluent applications are reported in the block nutrient budget, as Effluent added.

Dairy effluent that is exported from the farm is captured in the farm nutrient budget as effluent exported.
