The inputs into OVERSEER® Nutrient Budgets (Overseer) allow farm-specific greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to be estimated.
Since development of the original model, international Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) standards have been developed for reporting greenhouse or carbon footprints (e.g. PAS 2050) and increasingly, data on GHG for a unit of product (kg milk solids, kg meat, and kg wool) are required. Overseer required GHG footprint reports to cover on-farm-specific emissions and to provide carbon footprint of products from the "cradle-to-farm-gate‟.
