What is 'N in drainage' and why is it so high?

'N in drainage' can be found under Reports tab > Compare Blocks > Nitrogen summary

'N in drainage' relates to the N losses as a result of drainage events. It is calculated as:

 

N in drainage (ppm) = ((N loss in kg/ha) / (drainage in mm)) * 100

 

The 'N in drainage' value can be high when drainage is low. This can happen when a block has poorly drained soils and/or has low rainfall/irrigation.
