For nitrate, yes. For phosphorus, the runoff loss includes some sediment loss, but this is usually very fine grained. The model also includes losses from deer wallows and fence-line pacing, which also contains some particulate P. Sediment loss due to erosion in the block (e.g. slumps, rills) or stream bank is not included.
Is the majority of N and P lost ‘to water’ in the dissolved form – e.g. phosphate and nitrate?
